After hearing great things about this university and the Fashion course from friends and teachers I decided to attended an open day last year. I was so impressed and inspired by the fashion work, and also the positive and friendly atmosphere created by the staff and students, which instantly made me fall in love with the university, and I realised MMU was the right place for me. I have always adored Manchester for it's pleasant people and busy city lifestyle, so this is a place I feel I could really excel and fit in.

Since starting my Fashion diploma I feel as if I have found my own style for making and for designing, which has helped me gain a lot more confidence in my work, and I can not wait to improve this even more at university. I am very keen to meet new people and start a course I have been truly passionate about from a very young age.

I think the work I have submitted represents my style of how I draw and how I make garments, as I love the quick sketchy look my drawings show. When making garments I want them to be structured and include a lot of different embellishments and colours that create an unusual and fun look. It is really important for me to create work that stands out and that represents my personality so my work is personal, as I see fashion as a way of expressing myself.
My favourite part about my fashion work is the designing aspect, I love finding inspiration from everyday life and incorporating it into a garment, whether in a sleeve or neckline. I believe that every part of a garment should be carefully considered to make the wearer feel comfortable and fabulous to help celebrate the female form.
